Quick, delicious and easy to make chocolate covered strawberries ❤️
Although I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day in the traditional romantic sense, as everyday should be the ”day of love”. I do however, like to make yummy desserts and sometimes the simplest are by far the best.
What could possibly be more Valentine’s Day than chocolate dipped strawberries? They’re sweet, chocolate covered, and so easy to make at home! And they involve my favourite combination: fruit and chocolate. So get creative, and whether you’re enjoying these solo, with a group of friends, or feeding them to your beloved, have fun!
85g/3oz dark chocolate, broken into pieces
1/4 cup white chocolate, optional for drizzling
Place the chocolate pieces in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water. Do not let the base of the pan touch the water. Stir occasionally until the chocolate has melted.
Take a strawberry by its stem, dip into the tempered chocolate, spinning to coat all sides, and then hold it above the bowl for a few seconds to let it drip. Dip the tip of the strawberry into coconut and then lay the strawberry on wax paper.
Prepare the white chocolate drizzle: When the strawberries are ready, melt the white chocolate just as you did the dark chocolate. Transfer the melted white chocolate to a small ziplock bag.
Drizzle strawberries with white chocolate: Push the melted white chocolate to one corner of the bag, then snip a small corner off the bag. Squeezing the bag gently, quickly drizzle the white chocolate over the strawberries. Use big sweeps, moving back and forth over the whole baking sheet.
These are best served immediately, but if you have to wait, don’t let them sit in the fridge for more than a few hours, otherwise the strawberries will separate from the chocolate.
Note: One of the important tip is make sure that the strawberries are totally dry before dipping in chocolate. Dip the tip of the strawberry into coconut and then lay the strawberry on wax paper. For the white,
